ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY FOR INDOOR AIR QUALITY
Ultraviolet light is nature’s way of controlling microorganisms. Outdoors, germs are naturally regulated by the ultraviolet light from the sun.
How the ultraviolet disinfection system reduces microorganisms indoors
The UME-Series equipment produces ultraviolet light at the specific wavelength of 254nm (nanometers). At this wavelength the UV light is most effective at inactivation. As an airborne microorganism passes through your heating and/or air conditioning system, the UV light from a UME-Series unit penetrates the organism’s membrane and alters its genetic material (DNA). With altered DNA, the microorganism will no longer be able to reproduce—making it effectively harmless. Further, without the ability to reproduce, and due to the short lifespan of most microorganisms, the population of them in the air diminishes rapidly and dramatically.
Adding UV to your heating, ventilation and air conditioning system can reduce allergy symptoms.
60,000,000 people in the United States are affected by allergies, and mold is one of the 5 most common allergens. The dark, cool and moist surfaces that typically exist in HVAC systems are very favorable places for mold growth. Applying UV light in these vulnerable areas can make a huge difference in the spore counts in the air. UV applied in the recirculation airstreams passing through an HVAC system can make a significant reduction in the mold spore counts in indoor air. By reducing the density of mold spores, the indoor air quality is enhanced and allergy symptoms reduced.

Robert Bair Services Plumbing, Heating & Air are your Residential & Commercial RPZ Experts

Call toll free at 877-337-BAIR we have RPZ Valves In Stock
RPZ stands for Reverse Pressure Zone. These devices are used to prevent back flow or back siphon of contaminants into our public water supply. The state mandates that RPZ’s be installed where there is fire protection and or lawn watering systems. It is used in commercial & residential buildings. The reason for RPZ’s is that there is a chance that water in the building could get sucked back into the village water supply if the village water pressure drops and it sometimes does for one reason or another. There have been instances where chemicals from a facility have been found in city water supplies (cross contamination) due to back flow. State regulations require that these devices are to be installed by a licensed plumber, who is also certified by the EPA as an installer and tester of these devices. Always ask for proof of license and RPZ certification when having an RPZ installed or certified. The village mandates that paperwork be attached to the valve itself and also a copy is to be sent to the Public Works Department upon recertification each year.
We have many licensed plumbers on staff and 5 of them are certified installers and testers of the RPZ.
